Scott Bradley
Head Coach
Scott Bradley is the longtime head baseball coach at Princeton University, where he has built one of the most accomplished programs in Ivy League history. Entering his 26th season in 2024, Bradley holds the title of the Robert H.B. Baldwin ’42 Head Coach of Baseball and has amassed more than four decades of experience as a player and coach. Under his leadership, Princeton has captured seven Ivy League championships, earned seven NCAA Tournament appearances, and produced 12 seasons with at least 20 victories. His teams have been known for resilience and sustained competitiveness, including dramatic turnarounds such as the 2016 squad that rebounded from a 7–32 record the prior year to win the Ivy League Championship Series, and the 2023 team that improved by 17 wins and reached the Ivy Tournament championship game.
Bradley’s impact extends well beyond wins and losses. He has coached numerous All-Ivy performers and guided multiple players into professional baseball, including MLB Draft selections and athletes who signed professional contracts following their Princeton careers. Before arriving at Princeton, Bradley enjoyed a distinguished Major League Baseball career as a catcher, playing nine seasons with the New York Yankees, Chicago White Sox, Seattle Mariners, and Cincinnati Reds. A second-round draft pick of the Yankees in 1981, he appeared in 604 MLB games and was known for his versatility and durability, famously catching Randy Johnson’s first career no-hitter in 1990. A graduate of the University of North Carolina and a member of the ACC’s 50th Anniversary Team, Bradley has translated his professional experience into a coaching career defined by player development, program stability, and competitive excellence within the Ivy League.
