Santiago Cavanagh
Director of Golf
Santiago Cavanagh has served as the Director of Golf at Flagler College since 2008, initially as head coach of the women’s program and adding the men’s head coaching duties in the spring of 2009. During his tenure, he has established both programs as consistent contenders in the Peach Belt Conference and at the national level, earning Coach of the Year honors nine times across the men’s and women’s teams.
Under his leadership, the women’s team achieved its first NCAA Division II Southeast Regional championship and advanced to the national semifinals, while the men’s team produced five PING Division II All-America selections and numerous all-region recipients. Cavanagh, a native of Coronel Suárez, Argentina, attended Lincoln Memorial University where he earned his B.A. in Business Administration in 2002, and he was a standout collegiate golfer — a two-time first-team All-Gulf South Conference selection.
Cavanagh’s coaching philosophy emphasizes energy, discipline and resolve — pillars that have shaped his teams’ identities and performances. His multi-program oversight in St. Augustine includes fostering competitive excellence, academic achievement and strong culture across both men’s and women’s golf.
