Ryan Hyland is an assistant coach for the Fordham University men's basketball program in Bronx, New York, joining head coach Mike Magpayo's staff in May 2025. In his first season at Fordham, the Rams finished 17-15 overall and 8-10 in Atlantic 10 play. The team led the conference and ranked 12th nationally in defense, while also finishing among the league's top teams in defensive rebounding, rebounding margin, and offensive rebounds per game.
Before arriving at Fordham, Hyland spent 11 seasons as head coach at Division III John Jay. He led the Bloodhounds to multiple CUNYAC championships and, in his final season, guided the program to the NCAA Tournament after a conference tournament title run that included a win over top-seeded Baruch. John Jay finished that year 19-9 overall and 11-3 in league play. In 2019-20, his team went 13-1 in the CUNYAC to win the regular-season title, and his staff earned CUNYAC Coaching Staff of the Year honors, the program's first such recognition in 17 seasons.
