Ryan Fecteau
Associate Head Coach/Pitching
Ryan Fecteau is an accomplished American baseball coach who joined the Rutgers Scarlet Knights as Associate Head Coach/Pitching in January 2026, bringing over two decades of coaching experience at the collegiate level. Recognized for his expertise in developing pitching talent and building competitive staffs, Fecteau reunites with head coach Steve Owens at Rutgers after an extensive career that spans multiple respected programs. Prior to his arrival on the Banks, he spent eight seasons at Virginia Tech, where he served as the pitching coach and later as associate head coach, mentoring 17 MLB Draft selections and multiple All-Americans while contributing to consistent 30-plus win seasons and an NCAA Super Regional appearance. Over the course of his career, Fecteau has seen at least one of his pitchers drafted in each of the last 13 seasons across stops at Virginia Tech, Maryland, and Bryant.
Before joining Rutgers, Fecteau’s résumé included a season at Maryland in 2017 as pitching coach and recruiting coordinator, where his staff posted strong strikeout-to-walk ratios and produced Big Ten award-winning pitchers. From 2011–2016, he served under Steve Owens at Bryant, contributing to a historic run of success including multiple NCAA Tournament appearances and conference titles. Early in his coaching journey, Fecteau gained experience at St. Lawrence, USC Upstate, and Southern Utah, and began his career as a graduate assistant at St. Lawrence. As a collegiate player at Saint Anselm College, he led his team in wins, innings, and strikeouts. Fecteau’s long career has been defined by his ability to elevate pitching staffs and help players reach professional levels.
