Ruth Seaborne is the associate head coach for the University of Maryland women's tennis program in College Park, Maryland. Promoted to that position in July 2023, she joined the Maryland staff in July 2021 and is set to enter her fourth season with the Terrapins in 2025.
At Maryland, Seaborne has been part of one of the program's strongest recent stretches. In 2024, the Terrapins finished 16-10 overall and 6-5 in conference play, went 12-1 at home, recorded five wins against top-75 opponents, and earned the program's first victory over a top-30 team since 2013. Maryland also ended the year in the ITA top 50 for the first time since 2011 and rose to No. 2 in the ITA Atlantic Regional Rankings. In 2023, Maryland posted a 17-9 record, matching the second-highest win total in program history, and reached a season-best ITA ranking of No. 33. Seaborne also worked with the doubles team of Mary Brumfield and Selma Cadar, which advanced to the ITA Atlantic Regional final and the Elite Eight at the National Fall Championships, including a win over UCLA's fourth-ranked pair. In 2022, Maryland finished 18-7, the program's highest single-season win total at that time.
