Russell Grove was named the head men’s golf coach at Eastern Washington University in January 2025, tasked with leading the reinstatement of the program after more than two decades. The Eagles are set to return to NCAA Division I competition in the 2025–26 academic year, and Grove brings extensive collegiate and professional experience to guide the program’s relaunch. Prior to joining Eastern Washington, he spent 10 successful years at North Idaho College, where he led both the men’s and women’s golf programs and earned Northwest Athletic Conference Coach of the Year honors seven times.
During his tenure at North Idaho, Grove built a dominant program, guiding the men’s team to multiple undefeated regular seasons and a string of conference championships from 2017 to 2024. His teams consistently excelled both competitively and academically, while he also managed recruiting and administrative responsibilities. In addition to his coaching career, Grove is a certified member of the Professional Golfers’ Association of America and competed in the 2023 PGA Championship. A former standout golfer at the University of Idaho, he earned multiple academic and athletic honors while setting program records. His combined experience as a coach, player, and golf professional positions him to establish a strong foundation for Eastern Washington’s returning men’s golf program.
