Rodney Rogan
Head Women's Basketball Coach
Rodney Rogan joined Johns Hopkins in August 2023 as head coach of the Blue Jays women’s basketball program, becoming the eighth person to hold that title in school history. Since taking over, he has guided the team to back-to-back appearances in the NCAA Tournament Round of 16 in the 2023–24 and 2024–25 seasons — marking only the second time in program history that Hopkins has made consecutive Round of 16 runs. Under his leadership, the team also claimed Centennial Conference regular season championships twice. The 2023–24 season was particularly historic, as the Blue Jays achieved a program-best 26 wins, and its 19 conference victories remain the most in program history to date. During his Johns Hopkins tenure, Rogan has also overseen significant off-court success: two student-athletes have become CSC Academic All-Americans, three players have earned D3Hoops.com All-Region honors, and ten have been named All-Conference (including two on the first team).
Prior to Hopkins, Rogan served as head coach at Rhodes College from 2019 to 2023. There, he compiled a 67–28 record, including a dominant 40–11 mark in regular-season Southern Athletic Association (SAA) play over his four years. Rhodes won the SAA tournament title in 2021, 2022, and 2023 and made two NCAA Tournament appearances (2022, 2023). His 2021–22 squad posted a 23–3 record, went 12–0 in SAA play, set a school record 16 consecutive wins, and hosted the first two rounds of the NCAA tournament. Before leading Rhodes, Rogan spent three seasons (2010–13) as an assistant men’s basketball coach at his alma mater Millsaps, followed by six seasons as an assistant coach in the women’s program at Nebraska Omaha. As a player at Millsaps, he was a key contributor, helping the Majors reach their first Elite Eight, finishing his career with totals of 1,355 points, 580 rebounds, 245 assists, and 110 steals. He graduated in 2008 with a degree in business administration and a minor in finance.
