Rob Vaughn
Head Coach
Rob Vaughn was named the 33rd head baseball coach in University of Alabama history on June 12, 2023, bringing with him a reputation as one of the rising stars in collegiate baseball. Entering his third season in 2025–26, Vaughn has quickly reinvigorated the Crimson Tide program. In 2025, Alabama posted a 41-18 record and earned its second consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance under his leadership, marking his fifth straight regional berth as a head coach. The Tide opened the 2025 season with a program-record 16 consecutive wins and secured 40 regular-season victories for the first time since 2002. Vaughn’s teams have combined offensive firepower with strong pitching, producing 90-plus home runs and ranking among national leaders in strikeouts per nine innings while developing multiple All-SEC performers and MLB Draft selections.
Before arriving in Tuscaloosa, Vaughn spent six seasons as head coach at Maryland, compiling a 183-117 record and leading the Terrapins to three consecutive NCAA Regional appearances. He was named Big Ten Coach of the Year in 2022 and 2023 after guiding Maryland to back-to-back regular season titles and a program-record 48-win campaign in 2022. Vaughn began his coaching career at Kansas State, his alma mater, where he was a standout catcher and later a draft pick in the Chicago White Sox organization. A native of Humble, Texas, Vaughn and his spouse, Kayleigh, have three children: Wyatt, Beau, and Annie.
