Rob Schweyer
Assistant Coach
Rob Schweyer joined the UCLA Bruins softball coaching staff and enters his third year as an assistant coach at UCLA in 2026. As a pitching specialist, he has helped guide the Bruins to two Women’s College World Series appearances in his first two seasons and the program has been honored as NFCA West Region Coaching Staff of the Year in both 2024 and 2025.
Prior to his time at UCLA, Schweyer had a long and varied background in elite fastpitch and training: he competed in men’s professional fastpitch for many years, was a member of the Canada men’s national fastpitch team (2000-04), worked as pitching/strength-conditioning coach for the Chinese Olympic softball team (2006-08), and later operated RS Sports Training (based in Hermosa Beach, CA) helping develop collegiate pitchers. His expertise in developing high-level arms has translated into exceptional statistical finishes at UCLA: for example, his 2025 pitching staff ranked 3rd nationally in WHIP (1.07), 5th in shutouts (18), and 10th in ERA (2.47).
