Rob Schlaeger has served as general manager for Wake Forest football in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, since Jan. 21, 2025. After holding the same position at Washington State beginning in 2020, he joined Jake Dickert's Wake Forest staff to direct the program's scouting and recruiting across the high school, college, and transfer portal levels.
Before moving into personnel work, Schlaeger built his background on the defensive side of the ball. He coached at Minot State in 2018 and 2019 as defensive front coordinator and defensive line coach after spending the 2017 season at Wyoming as a defensive graduate assistant under Dickert, then the Cowboys' safeties coach. That Wyoming team finished 8-5, ranked ninth nationally in scoring defense and 23rd in total defense, and closed the year with a win over Central Michigan in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl.
