Robin Selbst is a veteran collegiate coach and former three-sport standout at The College of New Jersey, where she serves as assistant coach for both the field hockey and women’s lacrosse teams. Entering her 29th season as assistant field hockey coach and 27th as assistant women’s lacrosse coach in 2025-26, she has played a key role in sustaining TCNJ’s long history of national success. As a coach, Selbst has contributed to four field hockey national championships, nine Final Four appearances, and 20 NCAA Tournament berths; in women’s lacrosse, the Lions have captured two national titles, advanced to the Final Four 11 times, and qualified for 19 consecutive NCAA Tournaments under her guidance.
A 1996 graduate of Trenton State College (now TCNJ), Selbst holds a BS in Health & Physical Education and an MEd in Health Education, earned in 1998. She returned to her alma mater after coaching at Rutgers University and having previously served in multiple volunteer and graduate assistant roles in both sports. As a student-athlete, she was a three-sport competitor in field hockey, softball, and lacrosse, earning All-America honors and contributing to national championships in all three sports — a unique achievement in TCNJ history. Her excellence as a player was recognized with induction into TCNJ’s Athletic Alumni Hall of Fame in 2012. Known for her tactical insight, leadership, and deep ties to the college community, Selbst continues to mentor student-athletes both on and off the field.
