Robert Guster serves as Assistant Coach for Oklahoma State University's Men's Basketball program in Stillwater, Oklahoma. A 25-year veteran with deep Texas ties, Robert Guster begins his second season as an Oklahoma State assistant coach and his third working with head coach Steve Lutz. Guster is one of two defensive coordinators on the OSU staff.
In his first season, the Cowboys broke a 36-year old school record for steals (9.1) and junior guard Arturo Dean became the first OSU player since Marcus Smart to lead the Big 12 in that category (2.4). An OSU team featuring 10 scholarship newcomers played its best basketball down the stretch upsetting ninth-ranked Iowa State in late February and later reaching the NIT quarterfinals. Along the way, the Pokes treated fans to a fast and exciting brand of basketball, ranking 12th nationally in adjusted tempo and 18th in turnovers forced (511). He is a builder of strong relationships and defenses – two things that often go hand-in-hand.
