Robby Faris
Stromberg Family Hitting Coach & Recruiting Coordinator
Robby Faris returns to Johns Hopkins—his alma mater—as the Stromberg Family Hitting Coach and Recruiting Coordinator, joining the coaching staff under new head coach Nate Mulberg in August 2025. Prior to his return, Faris spent time as an assistant coach at Cornell University, where he played a key role in offensive development, including helping Ryan Porter lead the Ivy League in slugging percentage.
In 2024, Faris worked with the Houston Astros as a development scout in their amateur scouting department and supported professional and international scouting efforts. He has also spent time with the Chicago White Sox player development system, contributing to their Triple-A affiliate by preparing scouting reports, defensive shifts, and coaching first base.
Johns Hopkins University Athletics
A 2020 graduate of Johns Hopkins, Faris was a four-year player under coach Bob Babb, compiling a career batting average of .366. During his playing tenure, he helped lead the Blue Jays to two Centennial Conference championships and a third-place finish at the 2019 NCAA Division III Baseball Championship. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Government from Johns Hopkins and earned a Master’s in Sports Management from Columbia University.
