Rick Trickett is the offensive line coach for the West Virginia University football program in Morgantown, West Virginia, having returned in January for his third stint with the Mountaineers and his third time working on a Rich Rodriguez staff. One of the nation's longest-serving offensive line coaches, he previously worked at West Virginia from 1976-79 and again from 2001-06, and he also coached with Rodriguez at Jacksonville State from 2022-24.
Before returning to WVU, Trickett spent four seasons as assistant head coach and offensive line coach at Jacksonville State. He was part of the program's move from FCS to FBS and coached six all-conference players there. Jacksonville State won the ASUN title in its first season with him on staff, then became the first first-year FBS team to qualify for and win a bowl game in its debut Conference USA season. The Gamecocks later won the 2024 league championship and reached three straight bowl games, including a 17-13 win in the 2025 IS4S Salute to Veterans Bowl. His Jacksonville State offenses were especially productive on the ground, finishing fifth nationally in rushing in 2022, third in 2024, and fifth again in 2025.
