Rick Becker
Athletic Trainer
Rick Becker serves as an Athletic Trainer at Laney College in Oakland, California, specializing in sports medicine and performance support for student-athletes. A Bay Area native, Rick began his athletic training education at Diablo Valley College in 2004, then transferred to California State University, Fullerton, where he graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in athletic training.
He returned to Northern California in 2014 to build his junior college athletics career, and joined Laney College’s athletic training staff in the fall of 2017. Rick holds a Master’s degree in Exercise Science (with a focus on rehabilitative sciences and corrective exercise) and is certified by NATABOC as an athletic trainer. His professional credentials include ATC (Athletic Trainer, Certified), CSCS (Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist), and CES (Corrective Exercise Specialist). He emphasizes manual therapy, comprehensive body-system assessment, and injury-prevention strategies designed to support athletes across a wide range of sports disciplines.
