Richard Fox is the Assistant Coach for San Diego State Women's Cross Country/Track & Field, specializing in the pole vault. Entering the 2024-25 season, he was in his 30th year on the Aztec staff after joining as a volunteer in 1996, just before women's pole vault was added by the NCAA.
Fox has helped make SDSU one of the nation's strongest collegiate pole vault programs, coaching every athlete on the program's indoor and outdoor top-10 lists. His vaulters have won numerous Mountain West titles, set conference and school records, qualified repeatedly for NCAA competition, and earned All-America honors, while he also spent seven seasons volunteering with the Aztec cross country program and working with all-conference runners.
