Ricardo Santos is Stanford's assistant coach for cross country and distance, having joined the Cardinal staff in August 2019. He works primarily with the men's runners while contributing across the men's and women's distance groups, bringing a national reputation built on repeated NCAA top-10 cross country finishes and numerous regional and conference coach of the year honors.
At Stanford, Santos has helped the men win Pac-12 and NCAA West Region cross country titles and maintain a consistent top-eight national presence. His athletes have produced major breakthroughs, including Ky Robinson's NCAA 5,000- and 10,000-meter sweep in 2023, Charles Hicks' NCAA individual cross country championship in 2022, and a Stanford men's outdoor team finish that was the program's best in 23 years.
