Raul Dobai
Assistant Coach
Raul Dobai joined the Auburn men’s tennis coaching staff as an assistant coach in September 2024, returning to the Plains after a successful collegiate career with the Tigers. A native of Vancouver, Canada, Dobai competed at Auburn for three seasons, compiling a 35-24 singles record and a 27-24 doubles mark. He was selected to participate in the NCAA Doubles Championship in both 2023 and 2024, achieving national recognition alongside partner Finn Murgett. The duo earned multiple ranked victories over top-10 opponents and finished ranked No. 17 nationally in 2023 and No. 21 in 2024 by the ITA. Dobai also delivered key singles wins in team victories over ranked SEC opponents, including Alabama and Texas A&M, and clinched an SEC Tournament match against Ole Miss during his sophomore campaign.
Dobai began his collegiate career at New Mexico, where he made an immediate impact by earning Mountain West Player of the Year and Newcomer of the Year honors while leading the Lobos to a conference championship. Before college, he competed for Tennis Canada and captured two ITF G5 titles, in addition to winning the British Columbia Provincial Championship. Dobai graduated from Auburn in May 2024 with a degree in Exercise, Performance & Health from the College of Education. His experience as a high-level collegiate competitor and international junior player provides valuable insight as he transitions into coaching at his alma mater.
