RaShawn Stores
Assistant Coach
RaShawn Stores joined the New Jersey Institute of Technology men’s basketball coaching staff as an assistant coach in April 2023. He arrived in Newark with extensive experience at the Division I level, most recently spending six seasons on the coaching staff at Manhattan College. Prior to joining NJIT, Stores served as the Jaspers’ Interim Head Coach during the 2022–23 season, guiding the program to 12 wins, including 10 victories in MAAC play. His time at Manhattan also included roles as assistant coach and associate head coach, reflecting a steady progression and trust within the program.
Before beginning his coaching career, Stores was a standout student-athlete at Manhattan College. After redshirting his first season, he played four years for the Jaspers and served as a two-time team captain. During his playing career, Manhattan compiled 71 wins, captured two MAAC Tournament championships, and made two NCAA Tournament appearances. Individually, Stores finished ninth in program history in assists with 314 and shot 39.3 percent from three-point range. He was named to the MAAC All-Rookie Team in 2012–13, led the conference in assist-to-turnover ratio as a junior, and earned Lefty Driesell Defensive All-American honors as a senior. A native of the Bronx, Stores earned his bachelor’s degree in business management in 2015 and a master’s degree in organizational leadership in 2017, bringing both leadership and player-development expertise to the NJIT program.
