Randolf Thurman
Assistant Men's Basketball Coach
Randolf Thurman joined the Johns Hopkins men’s basketball program in the 2025–26 season, arriving from Johnson & Wales University in Providence, where he served three seasons on the Wildcats’ coaching staff. At JWU, he coached multiple All-Great Northeast Athletic Conference selections and developed two players to 1,000-point careers. In addition to his collegiate coaching duties, Thurman serves as head coach of BNL Elite, an AAU program based in Providence.
A native of Swampscott, Massachusetts, Thurman graduated from Dean College in 2019 with a bachelor’s degree in sports management and marketing. His playing career at Dean included appearances in 67 games (with 41 starts), and he averaged 7.8 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game over his four-year span. Before entering the Johns Hopkins staff, Thurman had built credibility in recruiting and player development roles in the Northeast, and his youthful energy and established AAU ties were cited by Hopkins’ head coach Ryan Cain as key assets for the program’s future.
