Randi Richardson has established herself as a highly successful leader of the Central Washington University women’s basketball program, entering her ninth season as head coach in 2025–26. Since taking over in 2017, she has steadily elevated the Wildcats into a consistent contender within the Great Northwest Athletic Conference (GNAC) and on the national stage. Her tenure has been marked by sustained postseason appearances, including multiple NCAA Division II Tournament berths and a historic Sweet 16 run in 2024–25. That season highlighted her ability to develop elite talent and build cohesive, high-performing teams, finishing with a 23–8 overall record and strong conference play.
Before becoming head coach, Richardson served as CWU’s top assistant from 2015 to 2017, helping lay the foundation for the program’s rise. Her coaching journey also includes stops at Seattle Pacific University and Arlington High School, reflecting a steady progression through the coaching ranks. A former collegiate point guard at the University of Wyoming, she brings a player’s perspective and strong leadership background to her coaching philosophy. Richardson has coached multiple All-Americans and conference award winners, including national player of the year honorees, while also emphasizing academic success and player development. In addition to her coaching duties, she serves as the department’s Senior Woman Administrator, contributing to broader athletic leadership at CWU.
