Rahim Esmail became Head Coach of Washington Men’s Tennis in June 2022, following a stint as Associate Head Coach. With 17 years of coaching experience and NCAA tournament experience as a player, assistant, and head coach, Esmail quickly established a strong foundation for the program.
In his third season (2025), Esmail led the Huskies to a 17-9 record, a return to the NCAA Championships, and the Big Ten Championship semifinals. Cesar Bouchelaghem became the first Husky to win a match at the NCAA Singles Championships since 2013, reaching the second round. The team finished ranked No. 37 nationally, their highest ranking since 2013.
