Rachael Sunder
Assistant Coach
Rachael Sunder joined the Auburn Volleyball staff as an assistant coach in July 2025, bringing elite playing and developmental experience to the Plains. A former AVCA All-American and NCAA National Champion at UCLA, Sunder was a pivotal contributor to the Bruins’ 2011 national title run. She earned NCAA Tournament Most Valuable Player honors after delivering a standout 20-kill, eight-dig performance in the championship match against Illinois. During her collegiate career, Sunder collected All-Pac-12 and All-Pacific Region recognition and finished with 1,442 career kills, ranking among the top 15 in UCLA program history.
Following her decorated college career, Sunder played professionally with Valencianas de Juncos in Puerto Rico and IHF Volley Club in Italy, and she also spent time with the U.S. Women’s National Team. Transitioning into coaching, she served as the Assistant Director of Austin Skyline Juniors Volleyball Club for four seasons, helping guide one of the nation’s premier developmental programs. Sunder also gained collegiate coaching experience as a volunteer assistant at Texas, contributing to a 54-8 record and a national runner-up finish in 2016. Her background as a national champion, international professional, and high-level developer of young talent adds significant depth to Auburn’s coaching staff.
