Head Men's Lacrosse Coach
Peter Milliman is in his fifth season as the head coach of the Johns Hopkins men’s lacrosse program, having been named the 23rd head coach in school history on April 27, 2020. Under his leadership, the Blue Jays have posted strong results: in 2023 and 2024, Hopkins compiled a 23–11 record, made back-to-back NCAA quarterfinal appearances, and won Big Ten regular season titles.
In 2023, the team went 12–6, earned a share of the Big Ten regular season championship, and advanced to the NCAA quarterfinals, finishing the season ranked No. 5 nationally with five USILA All-Americans and a program record five USILA Scholar All-Americans.
In 2024, Milliman was named Big Ten Coach of the Year after Hopkins secured the outright Big Ten title and repeated a quarterfinal berth, while producing six USILA All-Americans (the most since 2011) and a program-record six USILA Scholar All-Americans.
Before arriving at Johns Hopkins, Milliman served as the head coach at Cornell University (2018–2020), where he compiled a 28–10 record and led the Big Red to an Ivy League title and an NCAA quarterfinal appearance in his first season.
His earlier experience includes assistant coaching positions at Princeton, Siena, RIT, and Pfeiffer, and a head coaching stint at Division II Pfeiffer (2009–2012).
As a player, Milliman was a three-time All-American at Gettysburg and played four seasons in Major League Lacrosse with the Rochester Rattlers, winning an MLL title in 2008.
He has also been involved in international lacrosse, including coaching Russia at the 2014 FIL World Championships and serving on the U.S. men’s indoor box team staff.
