Pete Gash is an assistant coach for the University of Maine men's basketball program in Orono, Maine, a position he has held since May 2022.
In his first season at Maine, the Black Bears improved from six wins to 13 and recorded their first double-digit win total since 2013 along with their best conference mark since 2011. By his third season on staff, Maine reached 20 wins for the first time since 2003-04 and advanced to the America East championship game for the first time since 2004. Across his first four seasons with the program, Maine produced five America East All-Conference selections, two All-America East Freshman Team honorees, and three-time Defensive Player of the Year Kellen Tynes. Multiple players also moved on to professional basketball, including Tynes with the Delaware Blue Coats and Chris Mantis with the Capital City Go-Go.
