Pete D'Amour
Head Coach, Virginia Tech Softball
Pete D’Amour is currently the head coach of the Virginia Tech Hokies softball program, a position he has held since 2019. Over his tenure, D’Amour has led the Hokies to multiple 40-win seasons, consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances, and ACC regular season titles (2019, 2022). Prior to Virginia Tech, he served as head coach at Kennesaw State (2017–2018) where he led the program to Atlantic Sun Conference success and an NCAA regional appearance.
Before becoming a head coach, D’Amour spent over a decade on the coaching staff at the University of Missouri, rising to associate head coach and earning national recognition as a recruiter, developer of pitchers and catchers, and mentoring multiple All-Americans. He holds a bachelor’s degree in general studies (emphasis in business, English, history) and a master’s in sports psychology, both from Missouri. Off the field, D’Amour has also run softball camps (e.g. biomechanics pitching camps) hosted at Virginia Tech.
