Payce Lange joined the New Jersey Institute of Technology women’s basketball coaching staff as an assistant coach in June 2022. She arrived at NJIT following a highly successful 2021–22 season at D’Youville University in Buffalo, New York, where she served as interim head coach and guided the program to its first-ever national championship by winning the 2022 USCAA Division I title. That season also marked D’Youville’s first year competing at the NCAA Division II level, during which Lange led the team to a 15–12 overall record and coached three All-American selections.
Lange began her collegiate coaching career at D’Youville as a graduate assistant during the 2020–21 season, assisting with practice planning, game preparation, and day-to-day program operations. Prior to coaching, she was a standout student-athlete at Kean University, where she played four seasons from 2017–20. During her senior year, Lange earned D3hoops.com All-American honors, was named NJAC Player of the Year, and collected D3hoops Atlantic Region Player of the Year recognition. She finished her final season ranked 33rd nationally in Division III in scoring at 19.2 points per game, while also averaging 6.7 rebounds and 2.58 steals per contest. Lange concluded her collegiate career with 1,221 points, becoming the 20th player in Kean history to surpass the 1,000-point mark. A 2020 CoSIDA Academic All-District First Team honoree, she earned her bachelor’s degree in exercise science with a minor in business marketing from Kean University and later completed her MBA at D’Youville in May 2022.
