Paul McCord
Assistant Coach
Paul McCord joined the University of South Florida women’s lacrosse program as an assistant coach in 2022, becoming a member of head coach Mindy McCord’s inaugural staff as the Bulls launched their Division I program. A veteran coach with decades of experience across lacrosse and football, McCord brought a reputation as an innovative strategist and program builder. At USF, he played a central role in recruiting and roster development for the program’s first classes, while also directing prospect camps and clinics as the Bulls prepared for their inaugural competitive seasons. His background in offensive systems and organizational structure helped establish a foundation for long-term growth in Tampa.
Prior to USF, McCord spent nine seasons at Jacksonville University from 2011 to 2020, where he helped build one of the most prolific women’s lacrosse programs in the nation. During his tenure, Jacksonville compiled a 136–44 record and captured 15 conference championships, including multiple stretches of consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances. Serving as associate head coach beginning in 2015, McCord oversaw an attack that led the NCAA in scoring multiple times and earned 17 NCAA statistical championships, twice setting the national record for scoring offense. He also served as interim head coach in 2015, guiding the Dolphins to a program-record 17 wins and both ASUN regular-season and tournament titles. Beyond lacrosse, McCord’s coaching background includes experience in collegiate and professional football, including time with the Baltimore Ravens organization during its Super Bowl-winning era. A founder of the LaxManiax Lacrosse Club, he is widely recognized for his influence on player development and offensive innovation in the women’s game.
