Patty Gasso serves as Head Coach for University of Oklahoma's Softball program in Norman, Oklahoma. Finishing up her 31st season at the University of Oklahoma in 2025, NFCA Hall of Fame head coach Patty Gasso has molded the OU softball program into a national power and permanently placed herself among the elite college softball coaches in the country. In February of 2025 she was named USA Softball Women's National Team (WNT) head coach as selected by the USA Softball Selection Review panel.
She will lead the U.S. Olympic Team through the 2025-28 quadrennial cycle, which includes the LA28 Olympic Games. Three months later she was named SEC Coach of the Year, helping the Sooners to an SEC Regular Season Championship and SEC Tournament Co-Championship. Oklahoma has won eight national championships (2000, 2013, 2016, 2017, 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024), is the only NCAA softball program to win four consecutive national championships and is one of just three programs in NCAA history to win more than two national titles. Gasso has reached the Women’s College World Series 18 times during her tenure, and has advanced to the postseason in each one of her 31 seasons (no tournament in 2020).
