Patrick Szczerba has been an integral member of the Rollins College baseball coaching staff since the 2016-17 season, serving as Associate Head Coach and Recruiting Coordinator. He originally joined the Tars as the pitching coach and recruiting coordinator ahead of the 2017 season, bringing with him experience from Florida Southern College, where he spent five seasons developing pitching staffs and managing recruiting efforts for the nine-time National Championship program. Under Szczerba’s guidance at Rollins, the pitching staff has seen significant advancement, and five bullpen arms have been selected in the MLB Amateur Draft — including Brad Case, Garrett Leonard, Jimmy Robbins, Whit Drennan, and Cameron Enck — while others have signed professional contracts. His expertise in pitcher development has resulted in multiple All-Sunshine State Conference honorees and accolades, including first-team selections and regional honors, showcasing his ability to elevate both individual players and the overall pitching unit.
Before his tenure in Winter Park, Szczerba built a strong collegiate foundation at Florida Southern College as a volunteer coach progressing to pitching coach and recruiting coordinator, contributing to competitive seasons, NCAA Regional play, and notable pitching staff performance. A former pitcher himself, he played at Florida Southern from 2007-2011, finishing among the program’s leaders in pitching appearances with solid career statistics, including a sub-2.00 ERA over his final two seasons. Academically, Szczerba holds a bachelor’s degree in Advertising and an MBA from Florida Southern, underscoring his blend of athletic and professional acumen. Alongside his coaching responsibilities, he lives in Winter Park with his wife, Kerry, and their children, James and Erin.
