Pat Porter is an assistant coach for Fordham University baseball in Bronx, New York, and returned to the Rams' staff in 2018 after a brief stop at Manhattan College, following an earlier stint as a volunteer assistant at Fordham in spring 2018.
Since rejoining the program, Porter has been on staff for several of Fordham's strongest recent seasons. In 2018, the Rams won 35 games, tied for second in the Atlantic 10, and set program records in stolen bases, strikeouts, and saves, while also posting single-game records for runs and strikeouts. The following year, Fordham won the Atlantic 10 Championship, earned the program's first NCAA tournament appearance since 1998, and finished with 38 wins, a modern-era school record. That 2019 team also led the nation in stolen bases for the second straight season and set a school record with 178, while establishing another modern program mark with 605 strikeouts.
