Pat Cashmore joined the University of Connecticut football staff in Storrs, Connecticut, as special teams coordinator in 2026. He came to UConn after serving as special teams coordinator at Washington State and previously spending two seasons at South Dakota State, where his units ranked among the national leaders in net punting, punt return defense, and punt returns. Under his direction, Jackrabbits punter Hunter Dustman earned All-MVFC honorable mention recognition.
Before South Dakota State, Cashmore worked three seasons at Pittsburg State in Kansas, where the program posted back-to-back top-10 national finishes in kickoff returns. His earlier experience includes two seasons at Oklahoma State as special teams coordinator and offensive graduate assistant, and two seasons at Toledo as special teams quality control under head coach Jason Candle, when the Rockets won the 2017 MAC championship and produced two all-conference special teams performers.
