Parker Mikesch is an assistant coach for the University of Louisville volleyball program in Louisville, Kentucky, joining the Cardinals' staff in February 2025. In his first season on the Louisville bench, he was part of a staff that led the Cardinals to a 26-7 record and a trip to the NCAA Regional Semifinal. Louisville finished among the national leaders in blocking, ranking first in total blocks and second in blocks per set, while also holding opponents to a .173 hitting percentage. The team produced multiple all-region and all-conference selections, including ACC Freshman of the Year Kalyssa Blackshear, and setter Nayelis Cabello helped direct an offense that ranked among the ACC and national leaders in hitting percentage and assists per set.
Before returning to Louisville, Mikesch spent the 2023 and 2024 seasons as an assistant coach at North Carolina. In 2024, the Tar Heels went 22-7 overall and 14-6 in ACC play, reached the 20-win mark for the first time since 2021, and advanced to the NCAA tournament, defeating Yale before falling to eventual national champion Penn State. That season, Mabrey Shaffmaster earned All-ACC Second Team honors and Jackie Taylor was named to the ACC All-Freshman Team. In Mikesch's first year at UNC, North Carolina finished 13-14 overall and 7-11 in conference play, with Mabrey Shaffmaster again earning all-conference and all-region recognition and Sydney Nolan making the ACC All-Freshman Team.
