Parker Curry
Assistant Coach
Parker Curry was named UAB’s Director of Pitching Development in July 2023, joining head coach Casey Dunn’s staff after serving as Director of Baseball Operations at Samford during the 2023 season. In his role, Curry specializes in pitching analytics and player development, overseeing data collection and analysis through TrackMan and PitchCom systems. He works closely with pitchers to translate advanced metrics into actionable development plans while also contributing to scouting reports and offensive data analysis. Since arriving at UAB, he has played an integral role in advancing the Blazers’ data-driven approach to pitching performance and preparation.
A former standout at Samford from 2013-16, Curry was a two-way player who excelled primarily on the mound, earning multiple Southern Conference Pitcher of the Week honors and First Team All-SoCon recognition as a senior. After college, he signed with the Los Angeles Dodgers as an undrafted free agent in 2016 and spent six seasons in the organization, appearing at every full-season minor league level and pitching in Major League Spring Training games. Following an elbow injury and Tommy John surgery in 2021, Curry transitioned into coaching. A Birmingham-area native, he and his wife Megan—Samford’s head softball coach and a former SoCon Player of the Year—have one daughter, Lauren.
