Owen Field
Associate Head Coach / General Manager
Owen Field is entering his 11th season with the Florida Gators gymnastics program in 2025-26. He was promoted to Associate Head Coach in summer 2024, and in 2025 became the first person in collegiate gymnastics to also assume the General Manager (G.M.) title, giving him dual leadership across both technical coaching and strategic program management. His G.M. responsibilities include oversight of NIL (Name, Image, Likeness) education, database systems, analytics, and student-athlete development initiatives.
On the coaching side, Field specializes in the uneven bars. Under his work at Florida, the Gators have claimed NCAA uneven bars titles in 2016 (Bridget Sloan), 2017 (Alex McMurtry), 2022 (Trinity Thomas), and 2024 (Leanne Wong). The uneven bars lineup at Florida has consistently ranked among the nation’s top four in recent years, with appearances at No. 1 in four of the past seven seasons. While at Nebraska in earlier years, Field served as a volunteer coach or assistant in a similar event specialty (uneven bars) and contributed to several NCAA Championship appearances.
He’s also been recognized with coaching awards, sharing the WCGA Region 5 Assistant Coach of the Year honor in years including 2016, 2017, 2019, 2020, and 2025. On the personal side, he earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Nebraska in 2015. He was born July 11, 1990, in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. Field married Makayla Thompson in May 2022.
