Oliver Ortman
Assistant Coach
Oliver Ortman is an assistant coach for the Stevens Institute of Technology men’s basketball program, joining the Ducks ahead of the 2025–26 season. He arrived at Stevens after two seasons on the staff at The College of New Jersey, where the Lions posted back-to-back 20–9 records, won the New Jersey Athletic Conference championship in 2023–24, and earned an NCAA Tournament berth in 2024–25. Prior to TCNJ, Ortman coached at Drew University, helping the Rangers go 18–9 and reach the Landmark Conference championship game in 2022. Across those stops, he has focused on player development, scouting, and recruiting, bringing recent Division III coaching experience and conference familiarity to the Stevens bench.
Before moving into coaching, Ortman built a standout playing résumé as a guard at FDU-Florham. A three-time captain and three-time team MVP, he graduated as the program’s 14th all-time leading scorer with 1,181 points and set school records for three-pointers made in a career (201) and in a season (76). He earned All-MAC recognition during his collegiate career and was also noted for his academic performance, including Dean’s List and Academic All-MAC honors. Ortman has additionally worked in the grassroots basketball space, including coaching with the NJ Panthers AAU program.
