Oliver Carias
Head Men's Soccer Coach
Oliver Carias became head men’s soccer coach at Queens in fall 2011, following five seasons as an assistant. He is the second head coach in program history. Under his leadership, the Royals have made multiple appearances in the South Atlantic Conference (SAC) Championships, advancing to the title match three times in six years of competition. Notably, the team captured both the SAC regular season and tournament titles in 2013, and Carias was honored as SAC Coach of the Year. In 2018, Queens again claimed a regular season title as co-champions. Over his tenure, he has guided players to 30 all-conference selections, eight all-tournament honors, and 10 all-state distinctions, while also facilitating academic recognition for multiple student-athletes.
Before his promotion to head coach, Carias spent five years as an assistant, during which the Royals made back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances (2006–07) and captured regional and conference championships. As a player at Queens (class of 2005), he starred for four years, helping lead the team to a 60–10–6 record, an undefeated regular season (2002–03), and a 35-game conference winning streak. He was named All-American, league Freshman of the Year, CVAC Player of the Year, and ranked among the top players nationally during his collegiate career. A native of Guatemala, Carias played in 57 matches for the Guatemalan National Team across youth and senior levels in CONCACAF competition. He also holds a Premier Diploma from the NSCAA and a bachelor’s degree from Queens.
