Odell Haggins

Associate Head Coach

Odell Haggins has had a long and distinguished career at Florida State University. He joined the Seminoles’ coaching staff in 1994 after concluding his NFL playing career and has coached at FSU continuously since then. Over the years, he has served in various roles including coaching tight ends and offensive line (1994–95), defensive tackles (1996 onward), associate head coach (since 2014), and twice as interim head coach (2017, 2019). During his time at FSU, Haggins has built an impressive legacy. He coached 21 defensive linemen who were drafted in the NFL, including several first-rounders. As interim head coach, he went 4–2, and under his guidance the team has sustained success, including multiple ACC titles and national championships during his tenure. In December 2024, it was reported that his responsibilities would shift; he would step back from direct defensive line coaching duties and instead focus on broader program leadership while retaining the associate head coach title. He is also a former player: Haggins played nose guard at FSU, earning All-America honors in 1989, and later had a brief NFL career before returning to FSU to finish his degree and start coaching.
