Noah Lilienthal
Assistant Coach
Noah Lilienthal is an assistant coach for the Rutgers Scarlet Knights tennis program and began his tenure with the team during the 2024–25 season. He brings to Piscataway a strong blend of elite playing experience, player development expertise, and a commitment to both performance and education. Lilienthal joins the Scarlet Knights after establishing himself as a respected coach in junior and developmental tennis settings, where he has worked extensively with high-performance athletes while also contributing to community-based programming. His background aligns closely with Rutgers’ emphasis on long-term athlete development within a highly competitive collegiate environment.
As a player, Lilienthal competed at Wesleyan University in Connecticut, where he helped the Cardinals reach as high as the NCAA Division III Elite Eight. During his collegiate career, he earned numerous national accolades, including Division III National Rookie of the Year honors, recognition as a Division III Player to Watch, and five All-America selections. He also made multiple appearances at the NCAA Division III National Individual Championships and advanced to the national doubles finals alongside his partner, Adrian Roji. Following his playing career, Lilienthal coached at the Marc Hill Tennis Academy and with the Kings County Tennis League in Brooklyn, New York, where he played a key role in expanding high-performance training and community tennis initiatives. Several junior players he mentored have gone on to achieve top-100 national rankings. Lilienthal earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology and music from Wesleyan University, graduating with honors and Phi Beta Kappa distinction.
