Nils Schyllander has led the University of Oregon men’s tennis program since 2007 and is one of the most accomplished coaches in program history. With more than two decades at Oregon, including time as both a men’s and women’s coach, Schyllander has compiled over 240 wins with the men’s team and more than 280 career victories overall. He is one of only two coaches in program history to surpass 100 wins and has earned multiple honors, including ITA Northwest Region Coach of the Year and Pac-12 Coach of the Year recognition. Notably, he is one of just two coaches in ITA history to be named regional coach of the year for both men’s and women’s programs.
Under Schyllander’s leadership, Oregon has grown into a consistent national contender, achieving multiple NCAA Tournament appearances and historic milestones such as advancing past the first round and earning top-25 national rankings. His 2017 team set program benchmarks with 19 wins, a top-25 finish, and signature victories over ranked opponents. Schyllander has also developed some of the top players in program history, including record-setting singles and doubles performers. A former standout player at Northern Arizona, Schyllander brings international experience and a long-standing commitment to player development, helping elevate Oregon tennis to national prominence.
