Nik Colpitts
Head Men's Lacrosse Coach
Nik Colpitts was named head coach of the Queens men’s lacrosse program in June 2023, after having served as an assistant coach during the Royals’ inaugural NCAA Division I season. At that time, he became the fourth head coach in program history. Under his leadership, Queens has achieved several landmarks: in 2024, he recorded his first career win as head coach and captured the program’s first ASUN win; by 2025, his team secured its first multi-game winning streak in the Division I era, and multiple players earned All-ASUN and Academic All-Conference honors.
Before joining Queens, Colpitts held coaching roles at Jacksonville University, where he guided the face-off unit, man-up/offense systems, and broader game planning. He also spent time at Wingate University as assistant coach and director of operations, contributing to multiple SAC tournament successes and NCAA appearances. Earlier in his career, he coached at the University of St. Thomas (MCLA) as offensive and recruiting coordinator and helped guide them to national championships. Colpitts earned his bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of St. Thomas and a master’s degree in sports management from Wingate University.
