Nicole Benson is an assistant coach for the University of New Hampshire women's swimming and diving program in Durham, New Hampshire, having returned to Josh Willman's staff for the 2025-26 season. Her latest appointment marks her third stint with UNH after earlier service as a volunteer assistant from 2004 to 2011 and again for the 2018 season. Across those previous tenures, she was part of three America East championship teams in 2013, 2014, and 2018.
Before returning to UNH, Benson spent 2018-25 at Phillips Exeter Academy as an assistant varsity swim coach. Earlier in her career, she worked as a graduate assistant at Kansas and also coached masters swimmers in Lawrence, Kansas, in 1997 and 1998. She later served as head coach of the YMCA Green Dolphins Swimming club in Wausau, Wisconsin, and was an assistant coach at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, where she assisted with recruiting and worked with the sprint group.
