Nick Noble is an assistant coach for the West Virginia University men's soccer program in Morgantown, West Virginia. A former All-America goalkeeper at WVU, he returned to his alma mater in 2018 and joined the staff after an 11-year professional playing career.
Since Noble's return, West Virginia has produced several of the strongest seasons in program history. In 2024, the Mountaineers won both the Sun Belt regular-season and tournament championships for the first time, went 13-2-7 overall, finished 5-0-4 in conference play, and reached No. 1 in the United Soccer Coaches poll for the first time in program history. Goalkeeper Marc Bonnaire earned United Soccer Coaches All-Southeast Region second-team honors, and the team posted 10 shutouts, its highest total since 2009. In 2023, West Virginia set a program record with 17 wins, advanced to the College Cup for the first time, and finished No. 3 in the United Soccer Coaches poll. That season included victories over top-ranked Marshall and No. 3 Portland, along with NCAA tournament wins over Louisville, Vermont, and Loyola Marymount. Goalkeeper Jackson Lee, who played every minute of the season, was named All-Sun Belt Second Team and United Soccer Coaches All-Southeast Region Second Team after setting a program record with 17 wins and recording nine shutouts.
