Nick Friedman is an assistant coach for the Wake Forest men's basketball program in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, a position he assumed on May 28, 2025. In his first season on the staff, Wake Forest recorded 18 wins, including two postseason victories, and earned a No. 1 seed in the NIT. That season also saw Juke Harris collect ACC Most Improved Player honors along with All-ACC second-team and NABC All-South Atlantic District first-team recognition, while Myles Colvin was named both ACC Player of the Week and Oscar Robertson National Player of the Week.
Before arriving at Wake Forest, Friedman built his career across the NBA, the G League, international basketball, and the college ranks. He spent the 2024-25 season as assistant coach and defensive coordinator for the Capital City Go-Go, where the team set a franchise record with 31 wins and finished among the league leaders in several defensive categories, including opponent effective field goal percentage. Prior to that, he worked four seasons with the Charlotte Hornets under Steve Clifford and James Borrego, serving as an assistant coach after a year as a player development coach. With Charlotte, he handled NBA Draft on-court work, contributed to defensive game planning, and also took on offensive coordinator duties. He was involved in development plans for players including LaMelo Ball, Kelly Oubre, Terry Rozier, Malik Monk, Tre Mann, Isaiah Thomas, Nick Smith Jr., and Caleb Martin.
