Nick Fischer is the goalie coach for the University of Vermont men's lacrosse program in Burlington, Vermont, and 2026 marks his fourth season with the Catamounts. He works primarily with Vermont's goalies and has overseen strong production at the position across multiple seasons. In 2025, all four goalies on the roster saw playing time, with Ryan Daly finishing his first season as the starter ranked near the top of the conference in goals-against average, save percentage, and saves per game, while the group as a whole also ranked among the league leaders. In 2024, Fischer coached George Egan to America East Goalie of the Year honors after Egan's first full season as the starter. In 2023, Matt Shaffer posted a 9.77 goals-against average and a .553 save percentage, both ranking seventh nationally.
Before arriving at Vermont, Fischer coached at Norwich University from 2012 to 2022, serving as defensive coordinator before being promoted to associate head coach in 2019. He was part of three Great Northeast Athletic Conference championship teams at Norwich. Fischer played at New England College from 2006 to 2010, where he recorded a 9.17 goals-against average and a 60.4 save percentage and served as team captain as a senior. A native of South Burlington, Vermont, he earned a degree in kinesiology from New England College in 2010 and completed an MBA in sports and recreation management there in 2015.
