Nic Keene is the defensive coordinator and safeties coach for the University of New Hampshire football program in Durham, New Hampshire, a position he accepted in February 2026.
Keene arrived at UNH after three seasons at Springfield College from 2023 through 2025. Springfield won three straight conference championships and reached the NCAA playoffs each year during that span. He served as defensive coordinator in 2025 after working as co-defensive coordinator and special teams coordinator in 2023 and 2024. Springfield's 2025 defense finished the regular season ranked second nationally in total defense and placed among the national leaders in scoring defense, rushing defense, and third-down defense as the team went 9-3 and earned an NCAA playoff victory. His units also received broad recognition, including multiple all-conference selections, a conference defensive player of the year, all-region honors, and an All-American. On special teams, Springfield posted strong national rankings in punt return defense, punt returns, kickoff returns, and blocked kicks, and one of his players was named conference special teams player of the year.
