Nick Coleman is entering his second season on head coach Willie Simmons' staff. Coleman's unit ranked fifth amongst Conference USA in total offense and was highlighted by four All-Conference selections, most notably running back Kejon Owens who was named Conference USA Offensive Player of the Year. Under Coleman, quarterback Joe Pesansky went 4-0 as the team's starting quarterback in the regular season and accounted for five touchdowns against Middle Tennessee (11/08), the most in a single-game in program history.
