Nate Faanes serves as Defensive Coordinator -- Linebackers for University of North Carolina at Charlotte's Football program in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Nate Faanes joined Charlotte’s football staff as part of head coach Tim Albin’s initial coaching staff in January 2025 and currently serves as the Defensive Coordinator/Linebackers coach. Prior to coming to the Queen City, Faanes spent nine seasons (2016-24) as a member of the Ohio staff where he rose from a defensive graduate assistant (2016) to co-defensive coordinator (2024). Faanes spent three seasons as a defensive graduate assistant (2016-18) and one season as the linebackers coach (2019) before adding the responsibility of Special Teams Coordinator prior to the 2020 season.
