Nate Cole is the assistant coach for running backs at the University of Connecticut football program in Storrs, Connecticut, joining the Huskies in 2026 after a decade at Toledo coaching the same position.
At Toledo, Cole oversaw productive rushing attacks and coached several of the program's top backs. In 2023, the Rockets led the Mid-American Conference in rushing yards, yards per carry, and rushing touchdowns, with Peny Boone earning MAC Offensive Player of the Year and first-team All-MAC honors after a 1,400-yard, 15-touchdown season. Jacquez Stuart also contributed 574 rushing yards and six scores that year. In 2022, Cole coached a backfield led by Stuart, Boone, and Micah Kelly that combined for 1,611 rushing yards as Toledo won the MAC championship and ranked third in the league in rushing offense.
