Nancy Stevens is an assistant coach for the University of Connecticut field hockey program in Storrs, Connecticut, and completed her fourth season as a volunteer assistant in 2023 after retiring as the Huskies' head coach in the fall of 2020.
Stevens spent 30 seasons as UConn's head coach and 41 seasons overall in charge of Division I programs. Over that span she compiled a 700-189-24 record, a .779 winning percentage, and became the first coach in the sport to reach 700 career victories when Connecticut defeated Fairfield in the opening round of the 2019 NCAA Tournament. She also became the all-time winningest coach in NCAA Division I field hockey in 2013, and in 2015 became the first coach across all NCAA divisions to record 600 career wins. Her final season as head coach came in 2019, when UConn finished 19-4, earned the No. 2 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament, won its eighth straight Big East Tournament title and seventh consecutive Big East regular-season title, and advanced to the national quarterfinals for the 10th straight year.
